The Northeast Regional Trauma Advisory Committee (NERTAC) was built to advise, consult with, and make recommendations to the STAC for regional modifications to the statewide trauma criteria that will improve patient care and accommodate specific regional needs. The NERTAC will perform these functions utilizing the following objectives:
- Performance Improvement: Focus on developing a process to review trauma care and provide constructive feedback to all NERTAC organizations, ensuring care is coordinated and effective
- Education and Outreach: Focus on developing programs, supplementing existing programs and making recommendations for trauma intervention and prevention education in the public, EMS and hospital across Northeastern Minnesota
- Disaster Preparedness: Focus on planning and resources to provide for a coordinated response for real and simulated disaster events in the NERTAC region
